Thorsten Seeger

Member of the Board SME Bank

Thorsten Seeger is a management board member at SME Bank, where he leads the bank’s international expansion across Europe.
 He brings over two decades of experience in SME finance, fintech, and commercial banking, having held senior leadership roles across the UK and continental Europe.
Before joining SME Bank, Thorsten served as Group COO and Head of Lending at October, where he was responsible for loan origination across five European countries. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of Funding Circle Germany, where he built a market-leading small business lending proposition.
Earlier in his career, Thorsten spent 10 years in commercial banking in the UK. At Barclays, he held several senior front-office roles, including Head of Relationship Banking for London and Commercial Director for SME Banking. At Lloyds Banking Group, he was responsible for the distribution of financial markets products to SME clients.
He holds an MBA from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai and currently lives in Munich with his family.
